French language learning started when I opted for it in Grade XI in 2019.
I joined Alliance Française de Bangalore (AFB) on 13 Apr 19 to supercharge French language learning.
AFB provided a strong foundation and made me the subject topper in 2021.
Despite COVID-19, learning with AFB continued uninterrupted till I completed 640 hours by January 2022.

640 hours of French (April 2019 to January 2022) learning at Alliance Française de Bangalore provided me the solid foundation and confidence to take on DELF B2 certification exam. The first wave of COVID-19 wave receded in India in February 2022 resulting in commencement of offline college education. This made me move to Delhi from Bengaluru as a 19-year old. I registered for my first international language certification DELF B2 exam at New Delhi in May 2022. One month of focused preparation, love of language and the exam structure familiarity earned me a score of 82.5/100. This result is a turning point in my life as it triggered numerous academic, volunteer and cultural activities.
I took up the challenge of acquiring DALF C1 certification to enhance my French language skills on 03 Feb 26. While doing the rigorous course of MA French at JNU, Delhi, I decided to take up the exam by 19 Jun 26 at Bengaluru with a target of 200 hours self preparation and help of Le DALF 100% reussite book . After completing the target by middle of May 2026, I decided to hire a private tutor to make me go through this process of mock paper evaluation, discussion on structures as well as my response trajectory. I was ready for this task and I said bring it on.
When the results were announced on 21 July 2026, I just could not believe I have scored 93/100. My happiness knew no limits. I realised I have “arrived” in French without an iota of doubt and the transition is smooth from Psychology to French. At that instant, it reinforced my belief that French language learning has provided me immense joy in my life since 2019 and it will remain an inseparable part for the rest of my life.
