The European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu) is a scientifically sound framework for educator-specific digital competences. DigCompEdu details 22 competences organised in six areas.
Moodle is a free, online Learning Management system enabling educators to create their own private website filled with dynamic courses that extend learning, any time, anywhere. Certifications from Moodle align with DigCompEdu
To align with the DigCompEdu framework, widely followed in Europe, I enrolled in Moodle Academy in July 2026. After exploring the available courses, I decided to complete 15 hours of training leading to Moodle Teaching Badge. I did five subcourses – Start Teaching with Moodle, Moodle Course Content, Moodle Course Activities, Moodle Course Management, Accessible Teaching Basics between July and August 2026. I received my Moodle Teaching Badge on 06 August 2026.
